Those who originally conceived of the Tour de France could not have imagined the vast impact an annual bicycle tour of the nation would eventually have. Each year as I watch the Tour weave its way around the country, passing through vineyards and mountains, villages and cities, historic landmarks and contemporary sites--in addition to observing its people, I marvel at the beauty of France. Is there any place in the world that enjoys such annual and generous exposure of its natural and developed assets?

nice website, and glad to see you've got the grand boucle bug as much as I have.. small suggestion, i'd suggest replacing 'mule' in your terms with "domestique". The world of cycling can do without the additional drug connotations..
enjoy the tour...
great site and I couldn't agree with you more about the beauty of France. I have been watching some of the action on Versus and the aerial shots from the helicopter are breathtaking. The cycling has been action packed too. Thanks for the great site
Thanks for the comment about "mule." It seems degrading, anyway. How'd you like to tell your kids you were a mule in the Tour de France? I guess just to have raced in the TdF would be enough.
By the way, I was interested to read that Gerdemann has been quite outspoken against doping in his sport. A good sign for the youth movement, don't you think.
